At the bottom of each post there is the word "comments". If you click on it you will see comments made by followers, and if you follow the instructions you may also comment and I always welcome that. I have found many people overlook this part of the blog which is often more interesting than the original post!

My blog nick-name is SIR HUGH. I'm not from the aristocracy - my middle name is Hugh which relates to the list of 282 hills in Scotland compiled by Sir Hugh Munro in 1891. I climbed my last one (Sgurr Mor) on 28th June 2009

Mystery car update

Friday 8th February 2019

I posted on 28th January about this car I spotted on a recent section of my walk with BC following OS Grid line 38. I couldn't get closer to identify.

Commenters responded with various suggestions with a consensus of TVR. I emailed TVR with the photo - here is their response:

Dear Mr Robinson,

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the vehicle spotted whilst on one of your walks recently.  It is not a TVR but looks to be an Aston Martin Vantage of some description although looks to be in a rather sorry state but fortunately not a TVR though.

Kind regards

TVR Heritage

I have now noticed that with enlargement the word "Vantage" is written above and behind the front wheel arch.

I have emailed Aston Martin and await their identification - hopefully their response will follow.

  1. We should have known. I always used to drive around in an Aston Martin.

  2. Alan R - Looks like you were correct - see next post.

BC - It's not surprising that we couldn't identify since it has shortcomings compared with the real thing.
