I must have another read of The Elements of Style - William Shrunk Jr. and E.B. White - a seminal work on the subject.Sir Hughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17908756392825206914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365582190126322848.post-87844874124982161472019-02-22T00:33:00.314+00:002019-02-22T00:33:00.314+00:00Sorry but my comment on style was a pun on your st...Sorry but my comment on style was a pun on your stile photos not an appreciation of your writing style, no matter how good it may be.bowlandclimberhttp://bowlandclimber.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365582190126322848.post-70735972041834756732019-02-21T08:40:25.888+00:002019-02-21T08:40:25.888+00:00BC - If you enjoy writing to have a favourable com...BC - If you enjoy writing to have a favourable comment on your style is most welcome. I never saw a Limestone Link marker, but I wasn't particularly looking for them. The obvious deviation was my avoidance of Fairy Steps - I have been there many times, and I never enjoy that steep , rocky, gloomy path either up or down leading to or from that feature through the woods.

---------------

Alan R - urban walking is more challenging for navigation than hill walking in my opinion. although I have used maps and navigated for over 60 years I do not have a natural instinct for reversing things in my brain as one often needs to do with maps, especially when walking south. Another example would be being say upstairs in a house and working out mentally where, relatively, the rooms below were located - my brain struggles with those kinds of manipulation.

---------------

gimmer - there are sections where one is likely to end a day in the middle-of-nowhere, and sections where public rights of way are not available within the one mile north and south limits I would prefer to impose - we will se - it wouldn't be fun without the challenge. I reckon I may have to force my aged body back into the one man tent! This project started as a feasibility study and I am still not sure if it will be pursued to its finish.

Sir Hughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17908756392825206914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365582190126322848.post-55359881659474528762019-02-21T08:17:54.102+00:002019-02-21T08:17:54.102+00:00Sounds an excellent walk - i can see form the wide...Sounds an excellent walk - i can see form the wider map that its extension towards the North Sea will involve some intricate, indeed actually challenging, public transport manoeuvres !gimmernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365582190126322848.post-61923252270451293172019-02-20T21:06:26.198+00:002019-02-20T21:06:26.198+00:00Well done on that walk Conrad.
