Day 8

From the pub at Appleby (the finish). Camped last night at a farm high up. Very windy, thought the Terra Nova was going to take off, but it certainly proved it's worth-what a great tent this is. I must also praise the Neoair inflatable mattress- much better Thant it's predecessor. The new Golite Pinnacle rucksack is also a success being the most comfortable sack I have ever had, and well on top the job.
This has been a great walk and good preperation for France.

Day 6 follow up

I think I have now got the hang of using this software. Blogger Dashboard is hopeless, and I was all for giving up the idea of posting on the move. Here is
another photo.

Unfortunately I can't remember what it was but it was taken on this trip.

Day 6 Ribblehead to Sedbergh

I have just written a whole post and lost it. Here goes again. Good paths , no mud, fine views largely from high ground- quality walk. For BB glen tramway still runs weekends but my route narrowly avoided if anyway.

Dales High Way (DHW)_ Day1

A perfect day for walking. A nostalgic trip up Shipley Glen. On to Hope Hill on Baildon Moor. Despite the news that flights are back on again after the volcano crisis nothing seemed to be coming in or out of Leeds Bradford Airport- all was peace and quiet. Staying tonight with friend Marion in Ilkley.

Yes I found a trig point wtthin the first hour!

I have now got a replacement iPhone after the worst retail experience in my life with Vodafone. I am setting off on The Dales High Way on Thursday and hope to be posting along the way.

64 - Interim post

I seem to be long overdue for a post, but I am in the middle of an eight day sojurn in The South doing some work for a friend of mine.

Mick and Gayle, the couple I met whilst I was doing my LEJOG walk, are now ten days or so into their diagonal from Kent to Cape Wrath, and I can recommend  looking at their daily posts on  http://www.gayleybird.blogspot.com/

At the moment they are battling up the Grand Union Canal with some bitter weather.
