mainly for Mick and Gayle.
I had contacted The Boycott Arms at Upper Ludstone some time ago and they had agreed to let me camp in their beer garden. When I arrived the landlord was away but staff contacted him and I was shown to the beer garden. Once established I went back to the pub to eat and found the landlord had left instructions for my meal and a drink to be free.
I have just eaten well and was further attended to when the staff found a table next to a plug point so I could charge up my tech..
This could be a lucky trip for you, good bandb last night followed by free food tonight .
ReplyDeleteDid they spread the jam on it for you as well ? To use the old phrase: 'well I never'.
ReplyDeleteTalk about luck: no boycotting of that pub - indeed I think I'll put it on my list to be 'worth the detour' just to savour the ambience which produces such considerateness !
As you say, these things mark and and highlight the journey itself - which sounds as if it is going more or less to standard and plan.
You seem to have landed squarely on your feet (this time) my fingers are crossed for you that this is a good omen for the rest of your walk (note that avoided the use of 'trip')

All - apologies for a collective reply but you've no idea how tedious these replies are. Every time I post one Google has me signing in again with e-mail and password. If I want to insert the cursor for corrections it is totally erratic and difficult to employ that is not to say in any way that I don't welcome comments..
ReplyDeleteI have only just caught up with my comments (Saturday evening inThe Dog at Dunley)
There has been a further freebie since - I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Sounds great apart from blogger.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Here's to more of the same.
