Katie left, Lily right ( The Two Blondes? An in joke for my circle of bloggers who will understand)
- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad
Lives of great men will remind us
We can make our lives sublime
And,departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time.
Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o’er life’s solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.
Longfellow
----------------------
I saw a jolly hunter
With a jolly gun
Walking in the country
In the jolly sun.
In the jolly meadow
Sat a jolly hare.
Saw the jolly hunter.
Took jolly care.
Hunter jolly eager-
Sight of jolly prey.
Forgot gun pointing
Wrong jolly way.
Jolly hunter jolly head
Over heels gone.
Jolly old safety catch
Not jolly on.
Bang went the jolly gun.
Hunter jolly dead.
Jolly hare got clean away.
Jolly good, I said.

ReplyDeleteGreat news for Lily and Katie. Beautiful little girls, lovely picture of friendship.
ReplyDeleteJohn J - I'll have to look that one up. I reckon to be a fairly switched on technophile considering my age but so far I don't do emoticons, but thanks for the comment.
ReplyDelete----------------------
The Crow - I know we grandparents are always going on about grandchildren but that photo (taken by my daughter), for me, comprehensively conveyed the whole story and the characters of Katie and Lily..
growing up quickly - could almost be rolling their own at a pub table - whatever next!
ReplyDeletejoyful picture
Good news Conrad. We now have Wi-Fi so can finally congratulate you on completion of another walk. Well done. Where next?

ReplyDeletegimmer - That brings back memories when everybody smoked. We used to use black liquorice papers for rolling our ciggies thinking ourselves very sophisticated. I stopped smoking before I was married in 1970.

afoot - Hi Gibson - I suppose one day soon we will get a form of wifi with comprehensive global coverage, and look back on today's situation as we now look back on using urinated, vomit polluted telephone boxes . How did we manage?
This is GOOD news indeed!
