At the bottom of each post there is the word "comments". If you click on it you will see comments made by followers, and if you follow the instructions you may also comment and I always welcome that. I have found many people overlook this part of the blog which is often more interesting than the original post!

My blog nick-name is SIR HUGH. I'm not from the aristocracy - my middle name is Hugh which relates to the list of 282 hills in Scotland compiled by Sir Hugh Munro in 1891. I climbed my last one (Sgurr Mor) on 28th June 2009

Theme park in Langdale - NO!

Monday 4th July 2022.

We all get requests to sign petitions from time to time and I don't always respond, but this one is to protest about something outrageous. When I first read about this proposal to have a theme park in Langdale it seemed so absurd that I thought it was a joke. How anybody could be so crass as to think of such a thing is beyond my comprehension apart from the fact that the Lake District is already at visitor saturation point.

PLEASE READ AND HOPEFULLY SIGN.

The Lake District Planning Board and Lake District National Park are a joke, they are already in bed with the developers who share the Brockholes Windermere site with a tree tops adventure 'attraction'.
What happened to Friends of the Lake District?

  2. This is outrageous Conrad and we will both sign. By the way, I don’t get notifications when you post, so my apologies for late comments.
