At the bottom of each post there is the word "comments". If you click on it you will see comments made by followers, and if you follow the instructions you may also comment and I always welcome that. I have found many people overlook this part of the blog which is often more interesting than the original post!

My blog nick-name is SIR HUGH. I'm not from the aristocracy - my middle name is Hugh which relates to the list of 282 hills in Scotland compiled by Sir Hugh Munro in 1891. I climbed my last one (Sgurr Mor) on 28th June 2009

Katie update

Granddaughter Katie will be 6 years old later this month - wow!

A couple of days ago I am driving with daughter, High Horse, and Katie in my car.

Katie is looking out of the window from her rear seat chattering away and giggling at her own jokes, but then quite seriosly she excalimes "those pylons look like the Awful Tower."

  1. She has a sparkly photographic personality; obviously loves her grandfather deeply. Bless you, all. Hope Katie's birthday celebration is what she could wish for, too.

Ruth - In times past I was bemused at the enthusiastic chatter from doting grandparents and awed at the lavish amounts of attention bestowed on them. Now I understand.

Are you going to continue with any of your walk during the winter?

  4. Will the Eiffel Tower now forever be known as the Awful Tower in your family?
